NANOSIL is a Network of Excellence. It is supported by the European Seventh Research Framework Program (FP7) devoted to research and technical development and central to achieving the Lisbon strategic goal: make Europe the world's most competitive economy. Thematic area: silicon-based nanostructures and nanodevices for long term microelectronics applications.

A research-industry co-operation
The project was adopted by 29 partners (universities, research institutions and industrial companies) from different countries in Europe. Its ambition is to strengthen the public and industrial European research for the next three decades. The co-operation also includes dissemination and spreading of knowledge.

 A three-year partnership
All partners are represented towards the Commission by INPG Entreprise SA, intermediary for any communication. The Coordinator is in charge of the financial, legal and administrative management of the project for three years. The mission includes the administration and distribution of the Community financial contribution (4,3 million euros) and ensuring that all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
